Yves Saint Laurent, considered by many as the greatest fashion designer of the 20th Century, has died in Paris at the age of 71. In his own words, Saint Laurent said he felt "fashion was not only supposed to make women beautiful, but to reassure them, to give them confidence, to allow them to come to terms with themselves."
In January 2002 the Pompidou Centre (or Beaubourg as it is sometimes called) was the scene of Yves Saint-Laurent's last show and "soirée d'adieu" with the Tout-Paris. I was lucky enough to be there and will never forget the beauty i witnessed.
